PS, Mat, I find the outer driveshaft boots quicker if you leave the shaft in the gearbox, and break the outer cv joint from the shaft in situ without even having to remove the driveshaft nut. You need to clamp the driveshaft though so it doesn't just pop out of the gearbox when you apply percussion however...

BX19TZI Auto

Hello Guys

I've finally had some movement after a prolonged exchange with
Evans Halshaw & Consumer Direct.

Consumer Direct advised the dealer would be breaking the law if they tried to sell me items I didn't need.

Evans Halshaw admitted in writing they allowed a novice to operate on my car. After this an experienced mechanic took over & the suspension works again.Further it passed the MOT.

I'll be collecting in the next week or so.

Thanks once again to you all.I'm truly grateful.

Panny

I don't want to sound like a whinger or an ambulance chaser, but that amateurish outfit has cost you time and money by depriving you of your transport, forcing you to enlist professional help to get them to admit their own shortcomings, and caused you to incur costs that you would not otherwise have borne.

I would be looking at pursuing them, directly in the first instance, via a solicitor if they don't see how silly they have been, in order to recoup your costs at least. :?
