turbo diesel intercooler pipes, what goes where?

Post by nick.h699 »

i have just noticed a stray pipe coming of from the t piece on my intercooler. i cant see where it should go to. it is about 4mm in diameter.
could the fact it is dissconected be why i think i am low on power.

regards

The only one I can think of that size would be the pipe from the centre front of the intercooler to the fuel pump. And yes it will affect the power.

Is that not the turbo boost pipe?

Yeah I think it's the air pressure pipe to tell the fuel pump the turbo is blowing so send more fuel through :) it operates a diaphram on the front of the pump, at least it does on the Lucas pump.

Yes that is the pipe in question, you can tee off this pipe for a turbo pressure gauge.
