Roger you would be best of buying a scrap car with it on already and swopping it over, jrpod had a 16 meteor hes wanting rid off which should have it.

Good advice, I looked into this many years ago (with new Citroen supplied parts) when I bought a nearly new BX without PAS and the cost then was nearly 2K it simply wasn't theasable.Roverman wrote:Roger you would be best of buying a scrap car with it on already and swopping it over, jrpod had a 16TGD meteor hes wanting rid off which should have it.
I know how you feel, I love my BX's and this was a real beauty with gleaming silver paintwork and tinted windows but having no PAS realy took the edge off and I got rid of it within 12 months of buying it.

The TGS is a lovely wee car but, as you say Defender, manual steering takes a bit of the edge off the pleasure of driving it. Well not so much driving it as having to park it! It's a mystery to me why Citroen ever supplied an automatic without power steering. My thoughts were going towards fitting PAS so it's good to know i wasn't being completely off the wall and it would be possible. So further research isn't a waste of time ....
Thanks, R

Tim, for a moment i thought you were trying to flog me one of yours! Ok, i could have a nice 16TRS (like my first BX) or i could have a nice 16TGE with optional Auto transmission fitted at factory and optional PAS fitted 19years late!Or you could just buy a nice 16TRS with power steering already fitted?
Indeed Ken, a much more satisfying way of going about it

I can see your point exactly Roger. Logically it may not make sense, but if you like/know the car there's no incentive to change, and by doing such a job you get a feeling of satisfaction that can't be put into words whenever you drive it. I get far more pleasure using the A/C on my BX than I do on a car with factory fitted A/C!
