heh, heh, heh. It's as well didn't ask them for "A jump" in French. It has colloquial connotations that might have had interesting consequences for you. :lol: :lol:

Having said that, many rural cops in France are more than happy to give a stranded motorist a jump-start if asked nicely. When I used to live there, I found the local gendermes a damned sight more helpful than their Brit counterparts.

I will see how the calcium battery fares in the BX. I must say, after nearly 14 months there's no sign of a problem. Everything's working fine. (There I go, tempting providence!)
