stupid trim/radio removal question

Post by Stinkwheel »

OK, so.....................

i assumed that removing the 4 screws around the radio surround would allow that radio trim/surround bit to come out. Mine doesn't, the screws make it loose. I hate fiddly jobs, take the head off, no worries, but radio surround, WOAH!! hold on now.

I'm confused as im sure i had no trouble on my previous BX's, but the memory isnt what it used to be, so who knows.

Undo the screws completely and take them out, it will just be stuck so will need some jiggery pokery to get it out as its probably wedged in at the back, but its just the screws that hold it in.

I shall be keeping it to one side to stay with the car but i cant be doing without decent -ish music ability.

If its the original radio, then i've seen some on a BX with a long thread out of the back which is pushed through a bracket on the car and can then be bolted in. You sometimes need to remove the front lower tunnel trim to get at the nut (10mm?) to free the radio, other times you can reach round the back and undo the nut.
