Anti-roll bar drop links

Post by Dollywobbler »

Hi folks

Francine the Green Tiger has recently developed the fabled drop-link clonking, so I guess I'll have to get on and replace them. How difficult a job is it and how much roughly do they cost?

Easy job once you've got the old ones off

You may be lucky,

Plan A

Spend lots of time on them with a wire brush, turning them round to be sure you've got them as clean as you can, then apply some WD40, then give it a go.

Plan B

Have a hacksaw or angle grinder ready and cut em off

they will cost you about 20 quid each Ian and the best way to remove them (i would have thought) would be to clean them up as Ken says and use a ball joint splitter tool.

Hmmm. So, could be a nightmare and you need a tool I haven't got.

Isn't it about time I came to see you Mr Stinkwheel? That's just a co-incidence... :P

No need for ball joint splitter, if/once you've managed to get the nut off, you can knock them out of their housing using a cavmad, oops sorry I mean a hammer

Sounds like a plan mate. Are you coming over for Easter? Not suggesting you do it then but would be good to catch up!
