One side on mine was just a ballpoint pen sized hole, the other side was approx a golf ball shaped hole. Luckily for me it hadn't progressed into the sill area, that might have spelt disaster. I didn't take any before & after piccies i'm afraid, but will post up some completed ones to show with a bit of care, some skill & patience how good a home-made repair can be.

I'm actually looking forward to having a go at the other bits on my car & getting some feedback from Paul296 on how well or where i can improve :D

Promise to take some piccies from start to finish to hopefully give other novices like me some hope that these types of jobs with a bit of advice/help from the more gifted members in the club can be learnt & a good quality of workmanship can be done at minimal cost.

I had this fun and games last year with my inner wings. Bought myself a little 150A MIG welder and cracked on. The finished job looked awful through lack of planning and prepwork (it was cold and I REALLY didn't want to be doing it!) but it's solid. I've got plans in my head to strip the front of the car down completely and start rebuilding doing a slower, proper job (in a heated garage too!)
