Excellent news, thanks! I've got some pretty good welder's gloves here - I can see long term savings on the horizon!

(edit ^^^^^^^)^^

I seem to remember it used to say on the can that it was, "developed by NASA as a lubricant for the Space Shuttle program".

The number of cars I've 'fixed' with WD40.... but only as a water dispersant, I wouldn't trust it as a lubricant with any longevity as it seems to dissipate very quickly. It did lube up my suspension rubber bits on the estate and stopped them creaking. There was still no creak after a couple of months so perhaps the rubber is porous forming a reservoir?

Bloody stuff stinks though!

 yes it worked cheers.

Can we define "Struts" here gents?

There are stiff struts, thick struts, weak struts, struts wot dribble their contents when operated, struts that can be pumped up, wobbly struts - and even super extendable struts ...... all of which benefit from lubrication (and being used).

I'm getting confused (in a very manly, backslapping kind of way you understand....) and I need a cold shower .........
