Sounds like the relay to me. Failing that, it's time to get the multimeter out :S

Hmm. Electrics are the only thing I'm good at really on cars. Brother is useless, but good at the oily stuff, so we compliment each other quite well.

i think if it were the relay/flasher can the indicators would not work also,
years ago i fitted a brand new hazard flasher switch which turned out to be faulty, this was a MK2 BX

Yes I agree with Malcolm, try another switch that you know is working out of another one of your fleetcitronut wrote:i think if it were the relay/flasher can the indicators would not work also,

Re: No Hazards
Unless Tim has 2 dead switches, the problem must be elsewhere, either the wiring or the relay...Roverman wrote:...changed the switch and made no odds

I will give it a whirl, do the hazards and indicators not use seperate relays then?Defender110 wrote:Yes I agree with Malcolm, try another switch that you know is working out of another one of your fleetcitronut wrote:i think if it were the relay/flasher can the indicators would not work also,

just change one thing at a time, then you know whicch item was faulty, if you turn an indicator on this will help you find the flasher can in the fuse box, if it aint the old style ally can as that would/should be obvious

Flasher unit/relay is the third from the right (big black one) in the bank of relays.
I too like Malcolm have bizzarly had faulty new hazard switches on more than one occasion (not Citroen) + failed ones out of second hand parts bins but for me whenever the Hazards have failed with indicators still working it has always been the Hazard switch. I can't think of any logical reason for this but it is strangely how it has been.
