Please identify this part (16V)

Post by TB2 »

Hello once again.

The 16V I bought has this unit sitting in the right shelf of the trunk:

What is it? Something to do with ABS? My Turbo doesn't have it...

Oh and just by the way, I found the first occurence of rust in my Turbo today. Together with some fungus :?

Rear left on the inside of the trunk :(

Well. I'll finally need to prepare myself for some welding.

Regards
Carl

I believe tis a bloody CAR PHONE BOX!!!!!

Like a modem type thing-check for a phone jack to confirm!

From circa late 80s, you are probably the proud owner of 123453124645 metres of cable through out the car, and some bracket holes in the dash somewhere.

DUMP IT :D
one thing better than owning a 16v-owning TWO 16vs

Could be the fuel vapour recovery/return system??

Check where the pipes lead to, one to the filler neck and one from the engine bay ?

Not quite sure if this system was fitted on 16v’s for US and some European markets.
I thought this was only used as a variant with the Jetronic set-up. TZI possibly?
