Are you saying the sunroof and the windows fail at the same time? Does anything else fail? Can you check the rear windows next time the fault occurs?

If it was just the front windows, i would suggest the relay, but if other things are failing at the same time then i suggests probably a problem with the ignition barrel.

Having recently cured a faulty ignition barrel, that would be my diagnosis from what you've said.

I had the same trouble with a Saxo. The heater blower wouldnt work and it turned out to be the ignition barrel.

Try removing just the front door switches, disconnect the multi-pin blocks and check the operation on the rear windows and sun roof. Would go for the driver’s door first.

Could be the contacts on the driver’s switch locking in, causing the main thermal safety relay to remain tripped.
Possible ?? fault/connection problem on the main control box.

I do know the one touch button is a bit stuck in. I dont use it becase if i do somtimes. It goes down by its self.
Could that be another reason.
Thanks

I should imagine that’s the cause, with the auto fully up-down buttons on the driver’s side locked in, but don’t rule out the main control box

What gave me a slight pointer is the windows would operate with an off-on ignition, where the thermal relay would possibly reset on a once only basis,

Don’t check the auto close safety thermal/pressure stop with your hand or head. They bloody hurt.
The safety pressure is not as sensitive as modern units.

Ignition barrel..... but I said this before.

My car had *exactly* the same symptoms until I replaced the return spring.

It could also be the connection where the 2 plugs on the end of the barrel join the loom under the dash, but they seemed pretty reliable looking from what I remember.

The problem is quite likely the opposite - that after turning to the start position to start the engine it isn't returning exactly to the "everything on and engine running" position. Try encouraging it a little, and see if that makes a difference.
