The Mystery Drip

Post by catsinthewelder »

We've had our BX estate for nearly 2 weeks now and have been slightly mystified why the cubby holes in the centre console keep getting wet. However getting into it yesterday in the pouring rain we noticed a drip coming from the headlining just behind the sunvisors. Now normally I would assume that this was from a leaky sunroof but there is no sunroof fitted.
I understand that the roof panel is steel and the edges are fibreglass, I was contemplating trying to waterproof the gap between them with seamsealer. Has anybody else tryed this? any success?

Thanks

Probably the aerial base, not uncommon.
8MM nut holds the base on, lift the base, bit of sikaflex or some such, jobbed.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

I agree the aerial is my 1st suspect.
See you on Sunday,
