LHM Pipes Problem

Post by barry »

On the Hurricane 3 plastic pipes connect to small Y junction which sits on cross member beneath the hp pump, whats it for?

When accellerating the pipe pops off or leaks, tried a different type stronger junction but still does it. Worried that if we fix the pipes on to tight a pipe could pop elsewhere if its a pressure problem? On the TXD the pipes just slot in the rubber Y junction and stay there, any advice appreciated thanks.

Isn\'t it just a junction to join three return pipes together, down the bottom of the octopus? If it is, might be worth checking there are no blockages in any of them....pressure could be building up and blowing it off.

Check your tick time on your accumulator, when it goes flat, it often blow this pipe off. :?

Thanks will look into what you said, could it be a blockage from another pipe near to one of the three pipes?

This is what it is, this picture shows 1 pipe in the junction but in the car all 3 bits have pipes in and they keep popping out when acellerating...

Tried fitting a new junction piece but the same happens.

The pump while 'whirrr' quite loudly every now and then. Really, you don't want it doing it any more frequently than every 20 seconds IIRC, definitely not any less than ten.

If you're struggling to identify the noise, click the suspension into high and a second or two later, you should hear the pump kick in. With the car on the level, the pump should 'whirr' but stop pretty quickly.

I've noticed with mine, if I put it on high the car raises (front more slowly) but the pump carries on working for quite a while afterwards.

Also when I pull away in the morning the back initially feels soft and the pump makes a lot of schooshing noises for a second before settling down?

Am I normal?

try putting one end of a long length of dowle onto the regulator, and the other end against your ear, now time the interval between the ticks/clicks,

the regulator if you dont know is the unit on the front of the gear box with a sphere attatched to the end, this is the acumalator sphere which will need replaceing if the tick rate is to freaquent

Sorry to bump but took it to get fixed at garage a week ago, problem solved, just replaced the sphere on the front with a new one (forgot the name of it ).
