Will BX wheels fit on a ZX?

Post by Oscar »

If I have to scrap Endoflife, I'm inclined to fit winter tyres on the wheels and swap em over when the snow falls. Will this work? Do the wheels fit?

Cheers

yes; I took the speedlines off my 4x4 when it was wrecked and put them on the ZX, and they are now on a daughter-in-laws 206

remember if you use speedlines you need either a steelie adapted to go with alloy wheel bolts as a spare, or, as I did, keep a set of coned steel wheel bolts in the car to go with a standard steel wheel

They're not speedlines, but thanks for the pointer, and the information - helpful.

You need to measure the dish depth, they'll fit the hubs ok but I'm pretty sure there's a difference in the dish, seem to remember trying some recently. Gibbo.

My 19TZi has 306 steel wheels which I think are the same as a ZX, no problems so far even with slightly taller tyres.

The only thing is if they have the "hole" for the brake disc locating stud (which do unscrew and can be replaced by a normal screw)

Bloody hell, I\'ve never had a different set of tyres for anything. Usually just ditchfinders I drive in all conditions, just vary my speed accordingly. Never had an off so far, but theres still time!

That's the beauty of winter tyres, no adjustment to speed is required
Yes, knowing my luck i'll end up in a ditch with my winter boots on  Mind you, the tread is getting low :o

I've tried ditchfinders & enjoyed the experience of breaking hard in the wet & the car was still accelerating (i was overtaking someone at the time), never again, i want to live to old age & be able to moan at the younger generation with rose tinted specs of the past

I tried BX steels (grey disc type) on my Volcane and they didn't fit. Fouled the front callipers. Dunno what model you have, brakes may be bigger on the Volcane....

The black vented late model wheels may fit though as they have a different offset.

I have seen other ZX's with BX wheels on though so must depend on model...

Anyone else feel like commenting about winter tyres now? Where's that "I told you so?" emoticon?
