smelly car
When I open the roof window when going slowly or decelerating an engine/exhaust smell is evident. I have had the exhaust checked and told this is ok-any ideas how I could cure this? - without just shutting the window!!

Just to get back on subject ......................... ...................... I think you'll find this is a product of the aerodynamics of the 'Kamm chop' BX bodyshell.
My Athena had an aftermarket exhaust fitted when I bought it, and the tailpipe varied significantly from the OE pattern. Every time I opened the sunroof, the car started to stink of exhaust fumes ............
After much futzing, about-buggering and auto-phrenology (none of which worked) I circumcised the tailpipe, and reattached it using the MIG welder with a 2" extension (oooer nurse!! ) and a 20 degree twist that pointed the outlet straight down rather than half left .....
Result? The exhaust gases now emerge into a turbulent area where the airflow whips them away from the car rather than up and over - so no more fumes.

I wonder if the problem is affected noticeably by which spoiler is fitted (if any)...
