Anyone got a scrap shell?

Post by mat_fenwick »

Reason being I have taken off the A pillar trim for the first time in my ownership, and around some of the fixing peg holes there are dribbles of a waxoil type stuff. I was wondering if that was a sign that someone had rustproofed it prior to my ownership, or whether they all were like this from the factory?

Either way it's going to get another injection!

I encountered this when I took the head-lining out of the scrap GTI last Saturday. Scrape some up and send it off for analysis! :D

That gloop will be Dinitrol. Always works great where it actually got to, but everything not protected just seem to rot quicker
