Hi all,
with the help of my mate Tim, did all the sphere's on the Estate today. Ok, we did have a slight mishap but it was easily sorted and all 5 were done, the front accumlulator being the easiest. The pressure release nut at the front i suppose was pretty difficult, only in that we recconed it had never been moved since new, and an airlock in the system made it a bit difficult to get a rear wheel back on but it certainly is within the realms of DIY. However with due dilligence and doing it to the letter the with information provided by this forum, all was successful.
Makes me a bit cross however, that the garages i have been to in the past who have all told me how hard this is and how difficult not to damage the rear suspension pipes. With the system on high, the spheres crack off and undo easily with minimum force as long as you have the correct tool.
Dead impressed Tim, thanks mate.
Andy

No i havnt buddy but doing it in the dark, well, with torches of course and i presume well fuelled with alcohol, it must have been quite a laugh too.Vanny wrote:I wonder if you followed the write up on sphere changing at Stratford a few years ago. Armed with nothing but alcohol, a trolley jack and a hammer, it was potentially the easiest spheres have ever been changed at 2am, in a field!
Well done, and the ride on mine is now well improved, should have originally said and ime sorry i got cross, stressful time later that day with mum.
