Spoiler removal?

Post by richardd1652 »

I want to remove the Pram handle spoiler from a tailgate but can the holes be filled so when painted they dont leave tell tail marks?
As i dont think a mk1 would look right with the spoiler on?

Don't see any reason why not, they're just an 8mm hole each side.

I'd be tempted just to slip a flush blanking plug/gommet in there!
I have zero patience for your tedium.

Perhaps its my OCD but i like things as they should be if at all possible.I only know of the BX Sport that had the pram handle spoiler in Mk1 guise, even the GT,s just had the rubber "stuck on " type.
I will put the tailgate on "as is " with spoiler attached just to see anyway.Dont know why im worrying really as the rest of the body is in such a state ,every panel is either rotted or bashed, the original tailgate has a great big hole in it.Tell a lie,the bonnets ok.
