autobox filter service

Post by B-Hive »

Sorry if this has been covered before, but try as I may I couldn't find a post here on how to do the filters in an auto box..

I remember reading that it is a bit of a messy job, but can someone please explain the process (es) involved in cleaning/replacing the filters,, or at least point to where it was discussed previously, if that be the case.

Thanks

Not on my BX although I too would like to and will be doing so in the not too distant future. Done them on other cars / Land Rovers and IIRC they have nearly always been a washable gause type filter inside the box accessible by removing the autobox sump so a gasket/seal is often needed too.
