here are two pipes trade price and part No. that come up with your chassis/VIN No.

hope your sitting comfortably

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
95496828 HYDRAULIC TUBE 151.85 GBP 182.22 GBP 182.22 GBP

00004020XA HYDRAULIC TUBE 36.91 GBP 44.29 GBP 44.29 GBP

the second one is for cars fitted with 6+2 pumps which i dont remember ever being fitted, but thats what it comes up with,

i also think that first price must be a miss print, or i hope so

If you google chevronics, they arent a citroen dealer but a citroen specialist. They have been very helpful in ordering me new pipes once i provided part numbers, fast too, well less than a week.

Isn't that the special pipe (with the rubber parts etc.) between the flow distributor valve and the accumulator (#14 in the figure below), not the feed pipe between HP pump and the flow distributor valve (#2)?

Isn't the broken one #2, not #14?

That looks better.. at least it matches with my previous list:
95 596 564 Diesel (1,769 and 1,905 l) WITH power steering (pipe length 565 mm)
95 596 541 Diesel (1,769 and 1,905 l) WITHOUT power steering (pipe length 975 mm)
96 113 764 Diesel (1,769 and 1,905 l) WITH power steering, 4X4 (pipe length 592 mm)
(Looks like johnbird's BX is not a 4x4 diesel after all.. )

So it seems. I would still measure the broken pipe though and check that the length (565 mm) matches.

And thanks by the way for bringing the subject up: I realized that I have run out of the 6,35 mm pipe. Ordered a new 7,6 m reel straight away. :)

Well they did, but only very late in the production run, and on LHD vehicles, as I removed the 6+2 pump and bracket, from an accident damaged version in a scrapyard some years ago, with a view to fitting it onto a XUD11 engine, that I one day intend to fit into a BX.

In this instance the pump is driven from the crankshaft pulley, and occupies the space normally used for the air conditioning compressor.

My 1987 petrol 16 TRS had the pump in that location.

I have ordered. This part from a company called chevronics. Its being posted straight to my home. Part no matched a pipe so let's hope its right. Ordered four rubber inserts too so I will have some spare. With vat and postage with the inserts 50.40 so its not something I want to fix regularly. Chevronics said the lack of the nut on the mounting bracket of the pumpalmost certainly caused the fracture. Of the pipe. I have already found a new nut in my boxes of bits!
