M9 screws

Another nice innovation by the French: the rear brake calipers are mounted to the rear arms with M9x139 screws, and the thread is machined directly to the rear arm. So in order to fix the arm to the machining jig, M9 screws are needed.

Asking whether such bolts are available, I was laughed out from several bolt&fitting businesses, so there was no other option than to do it the fun way: http://www.rmattila.com/images/projektit/m9/ .

The rear arm project seems to escalate without any bounds..

Love the pics,but can I ask a favour? My Finnish is rather less than perfect...

and although I do know a couple of rather beautiful Finnish girls who could probably translate for me, they're only 13 and 14 so they might not know the technical terms... So, any chance of adding English (or French! I won't ask for Russian..) subtitles on your site?

I'm thinking about adding English commentary to at least some of the more useful pics, but at the moment that's not the only shortcoming of the site. Should get the whole system organised, create a main page and some sort of link structure etc., but it seems there is never time for that.

However, I think the pics are rather self-explanatory, and the commentary does not really add much to their information value. (But of course I may well be wrong on this.

)

What you need to do is charge up your laptop, go outside and freeze your hair to the ground – hey presto, loads of time to get it sorted!

Thanks! I think you just solved a whole bunch of scheduling problems that seem to prevent getting certain second-priority things accomplished. How did I never think of that?
