suitable Peugeot cam belt/bearing alternatives

Post by B-Hive »

Hi

Doing some shopping around on ebay for a cam belt tensioner bearing or kit for the 19GT.

Can any one please tell me what Peugeot belts and tensioners would fit. I am suspecting the belt from the 405 is the same but is this correct, and if so would the 405 tensioner bearing suit as well?. That aside are there any other pug models that would have the same cam belt and tensioner as the BX19..perhaps a 306 or 205..

Already have a cam belt but need a tensioner but am not worried if if have to buy another belt in the process

Thanks

Of similar vintage: BX 1.6, BX 1.9 petrol, 205 1.6 carb, 309 1.9 carb. Not 100 % sure on 405 as I *think* there was a spec change on the belts before the 405 was released. I think most things after 1987 were slightly different, but like I say check it first. Just look at a listing on ebay for a cambelt kit and see what cars it's listed for, or download the QH or Gate catalogues.
