Identification needed

Post by Gibbo2286 »

Posted this yesterday but in the wrong place.

I got this as part of a job lot from a closed down Citroën dealer. most of the lot was bagged and numbered but this came without either.

I know what it is but what does it fit?

The pulley is 8.5cm diameter and the square holes are 4.5cm between centres.
Any ideas chaps? It might not of course be Citroën.Gibbo

That is the tensioning idler wheel for factory fit aircon on a 1.7/1.9 xud engine. It is remarkably rare, and often overlooked* when A/C is retrofitted.

*shredded aux belt, shredded cambelt, smashed valves and a wrecked head later, I now know this....
this might be a signature

Thanks very much David, with your guidance I've now found the correct info in the parts list.

Tension roller part number 6453.C6 for 1.7 & 1.9 diesel BX with air conditioning.

DIESEL FUEL AND 1,769L AND 1,905L AND TURBO EXCH SINCE RPO No. 04074 UNTIL RPO No. 04738

DIESEL FUEL AND 1,769L AND 1,905L AND TURBO EXCH SINCE RPO No. 04739

If anyone is interested in this part I have no use for it so make me an offer.

I'll put it on Ebay if I have no response here. Gibbo.

Don't worry John - in a fit of stupidity I had forgotten that I had fitted a 16v sump, and therefore the tensioner will not fit without some modification. So if you are interested you are welcome to make Gibbo an offer.

It does sound like Jaba (John) is interested as he has several A/C BXs but he doesn't seem to visit the forum very often. I will contact him and suggest he gets in touch...
