Rear BX smoked lights

Post by Muiruri »

Probably not an intelligent question but does anyone know if rear smoked lights will fit a 1988 Bx 1.9 GTI hatchback which has ordinary lights?

Thanks Philip.
I'm sure they are going to look great on the old girl.

Actually No not necesssarily.

As I found out a few years back that there are a few makes of Taillights that have differant connections  :x

You need to match the make of tail light to the smaked version before getting a clear answer.

Learn something new every day! I am still pretty sure they are a straight swap.... but as Kiwi points out, maybe the make of light is a factor? I will try it out tomorrow; I have lots of rear lights to play with here.

The actual lenses are a straight swap though... so yes, you can use your existing bulb holders.

On an '88 BX GTi though, I'd be amazed if it had the earlier connection, so you should be fine.

That is a nice short cut and easy on the pocket too!. however companies down here produce such poor quality paint that you would not be sure what the results may be. Besides, my lenses are cracked. They look like they have been nibbled by rats on the edges.
