Fluid leak

Help chaps,,,,,,my 1993 19txd has sprung a lhm leak,,,,,,,a pipe on top of the lhm tank that has 3 small pipes going in to the side of it had given up the ghost ,,,,,,ive tryed some get you home repairs , but all 3 are perished & past best ,,,,,,,is there a repair kit or any thing available ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thanks ,,,,,rich.

Thanks for reply defender ,,,,,,mine are all gone at the tank end ,,,,i thought it would be easy to mend & make do as they say.......ohh well .........
I used to do the mots for a citroen dealer in the 90s ime sure ive seen a metal pipe mod about 6ins long with different diameters on each end & the 3 pipes with different sizes off of the side ,,,,,,,,,so you just cut the complicated bit out & fit ,,,,,,,,,,if i cant find one ile make one ,,,,,,,,,after all 50mpg in a nice old bx has gota be worth saving ,,,, , rich.

I've just had the main & small octopus pipes replaced, so they are still available to purchase. Small price to pay to keep your car on the road Whereabouts are you?

sounds like pipe number 5 or pipe number 6 in my pics in the thread in Defender110's post above. Note that pipes 1/2/4 are separate return systems but are made up of 1 Citroen part.

I have had BX's since the late 80's but I have never had any major problems and I don't consider myself an expert. However I have looked at the hydraulics system many times, in anticipation of a problem.

I have never had to replace any of the main rubber return pipes, but I have replaced some of the metal supply pipes under the car. There are other posts where people have suggested various alternatives to the rubber parts, but IMO for the time being you're probably better replacing with an original Citroen part while still available.

You might be able to "make do and mend" by sourcing various bits of plastic/rubber pipe, but you are only postponing the inevitable.

Ive made up a mk 1 :)trial metal extension to take all 3 small pipes & the main feed back to tank,& silver soldered it all together ,all 5 holes have a different internal diameter,right pain in the arse ,,,seems ok at the mo,,,,,,,,if it works ok for a week or so then i will make up a more robust version .

Ps just to give you a larf, ,,,,,,,there were no rubber covers over the back of the bulbs in the headlamps,,,,,,,,,the o/s one is green inside now,,,,,,,,,,as is the road to my house ,, ,,,,,,,cheers again,,,,,,rich.
Ohh ps 2,,,,,,,,the water pump has just started to leak today,,,,,,,,,larf a minit this car lark ,,init........

Ive changed the suction pipe & throtle cable positions since the photo was taken to avoid rubbing ,,,,hopefully the mk 2 will be a bit tidier.as i had to cut the rubber pipes back to get sound conections, but lets make sure it works ok first.
Cheers for the diagrams of all the pipe work, now ive calmed down a bit they make some sence,,, ........rich.
