putting a radio back in

Post by BX Meteor »

2 years ago my son was going to be a user of my BX, and he decided he wanted to put a CD player in, so he and a friend took out the radio, and that is as far as they got. The radio has been sitting in the boot since then and today I decided to put it back.

It's a Blaupunkt (original in the car) and it works.

However, I cannot get it back in, god knows how they got it out. The plastic hinged cover works, the metal insert is in the plastic cover, but the radio only goes partially in and no further.

I want to remove the plastic hinged cover out of the car to see why the radio does not pass all the way into the metal insert. I've removed the 4 screws but it will not come out

Any ideas ????

one the 4 screws are out the flaped section should almost fall out,

the usual thing stopping the radio going fully home is the wireing/conector block/s,

you need to move them off and down to one side usualy the left side,

thanks malcolm, just went out and you're right, the wires need very careful placing, then the radio just slips in (fifth time of trying).

flapped section never came out though, no idea what was stopping it, but radio is back now.

My son wants to use it in June/July ...rule will be "no modifications"
