rear disc to change.

Post by Preacher »

It failed the mot on multiple problems however Tim sold me some new discs, great only problem being i cant get thosr caliper bolts undone plus have found that the n/s rear caliper leaks, a lot. Advice on the bolts plus where's best for a caliper would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you mean that you can't undo the big 17mm bolts that hold the caliper in place, or those pesky 8mm ones that pass through the caliper and pads?

The 17mm's will just be very tight. The 8mm ones are a pain. If the caliper is duff just concentrate on getting the brake pipe out intact, then a long bar on the 17mm bolts with a good quality socket (6 sided preferred)

New calipers are hard to come by and/or expensive. Might be able to find you a decent second hand one.

If they're just leaking fit a new seal kit.
