Alternator problems?

I'm still not convinced. You do see people bump starting cars with a real jolt, but that should be avoided really. There's no need for it.

Me neither, i've jump started hundreds of diesels smoothly without any damage. Now stalling a torquey diesel to stop them when the stop solenoid fails will cause damge.

Typical innit?

Found another alternator on feebay, zakly the same as the one i took off and had reconditioned for 14 quid inc postage so i had to buy it as a spare. It is a Valeo jobbie and i hope it may fit the TGS if needed.
If only i had found it a couple of weeks ago.
