Petrol H/P Pumps

Am I right in thinking that asides the 16v (and probably the 1.4 layback engine) they all the same?

Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Haynes is being a bit obtuse on the subject but when ~I was doing my 14 there were a fair few different types of pump.

Haynes says looking at the pump will determine which kind it is :lol:

Hmm so the 1.6 and 1.9 petrol have different pumps then?
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

As I read it, the "DIESEL FUEL AND 1,905 L" means 1,9 litre diesel engines, not 1,9 litre petrol engines and diesels. So my interpretation would be that with the exception of GTI 16S and the old 1,360 engines, all petrol models would seem to have the same pump # 95 589 236.

However, I've learnt not to trust the catalogues blindly, and since my experience is almost exclusively on diesel models, can't say for 100 % sure.

There is of course the option to have an electric pump installed.

i belive mostly the diference is to do with were on the engine the pump is located, exccept for the odd one out being the 1360 lay back pug lump,
