Accessing front struts/LHM diy job

Post by anaconda »

Im giving the front strut LHM lube a go as per the suggestion on the BX DIY page. What is the best way to access the struts? Im assuming its simply a case of removing the wheel? Or do I need to be underneath?

Also once the strut rubber pipe ends are removed and the LHM is 'sucked up,' is there anything else to be done to the strut, e.g grease the outside or whatever.

cheers

An alternative easier method is to Just turn the steering onto full lock and remove just one of the 2 legs of the return pipe then pump some clean LHM in with an oil can. If you keep an oil can of LHM handy this method can be repeated when needed in a few seconds.

Thanks for the tip, sounds reasonably straightforward.
