BX Haynes manual

Post by anaconda »

Ebay has manuals for petrol versions but I cant locate a manual covering diesels. Im no good with cars but try to go it a go when I can. Im looking for a manual to assist with changing the gearbox oil, and then will try other service/ repair jobs depending on complexity. Can any one recommend a manual for the job?

cheers

There is one like that:

According to the price tag, I ordered it from W & G Foyle in the UK, and it cost me £14.99 plus postage (ten years back or so).

You've just missed one on E-BAY which the listing ended yesterday, (with Zero bids)
Maybe worth trying to contact the seller if they can re-list it for you with a BIN ?

:)

These are listed right now, it should be the right one. It only covers the engine so you'll need the regular manual for the rest of the car. There is no combined book for BX diesels.

Thanks all - so one for the car and a separate manual for the engine. I think i'll start with the 'car'.

Some of those postal charges are daft, but the manual on the elapsed auction looks well priced..

Haynes no longer list a manual for the BX. Halfords couldn't order one last year. Plenty for sale on ebay or try Amazon. :)

Amazon can be surprisingly good for books you'd otherwise just scour Ebay for. I've just bought the diesel engine manual, as I already had the basic BX one. Even came with greasy fingerprints all over it so I haven't got to worry about ruining it myself! Cost something like £3 delivered.

There are 24 used copies of the Haynes 84-96 citroen diesel manual on amazon at the moment - all 1p each (£2.80 p&P) Go and get one - I just did (so that's 23 copies now - obviously :D )

Cheers to Dollywobbler for the tipoff! beers

Yeah, but I'd rather pay a few quid so I have something nice to rest my mug of tea on. :D

I couldn't find any mention of the word 'diesel' on the 16v site - do they know what 'diesel' actually is on there? :D

Bear in mind that even when you've got both manuals, you can pretty much guarantee that whatever job you want to do will either not be covered or will be covered in such a way that the info you really need to know will have fallen down the gaps between the two manuals... Well, that's how it always seems to work for me, anyway.
