jerky when accellerating

Post by fnukyguy »

I have a citröen bx 91 millesime... (bx 16 engine)

The car is jerky when accellerating...
It's not noticeable when i have some momentum and traveling at a constant speed..and is perfectly fine when running idle.
..it only jerks when accellerating.
Ive changed spark plugs, spark plug wires and airfilter. No Change.

Someone told me it might have something to do with some vacuum-hose leaking. But where is it located ?
Any ideas how to fix it?

Try a new ignition coil. My 16valve used to have a "stutter" around 2000rpm. I changed plugs, leads, rotor arm etc. All of these improved matters slightly but changing the coil(a five minute job) cured it 95%. :)

Try also cleaning the contacts on the inside of the distributor cap, or a new one.

Most people lack the ability to put into words exactly the messege they are trying to put across. We have a fellow BXer here wanting some help to keep our dwinderling numbers going.

Besides that I think this thread may help an issue I have and overlooked.

I had exactly this problem with my old 16TGS - Changed the distributor cap; Bingo! :D
