Anyone help me locate the sender on the Diesel Engine please?
The illusive Tacho as informed by Mat (I think?) is not working when it gets warm. So if I know what I am looking for either clean it up if possible or get a new one.
I gather the petrol ones work differantly so that plan of using the one off the TRS has gone out the window.

I think they're made up of a coil encased in plastic, in which a small current is generated when the flywheel passes it. So physically cleaning it I wouldn't think would help - you could measure the resistance of it and if it's gone open circuit then bin it. More likely it will give a resistance when cold, and then as it expands when warm the circuit will be broken.kiwi wrote:any success with just cleaning these things up?
Or in other words, no.
