Paint Code

Is there anyway of knowing what colour white my TXD is when the paint code isn't on the inner wing (Kevan had to cut it out when he welded them up)? If anyone can remember seeing my car, you might know which one it might be? Or is there any info in the cars paperwork that'll tell me?

So that code, what does it translate into plain english? Is it olympic white & i presume that it's a different shade to Jay's because mine's got a few extra letters? Or is it just EWT which is the same type?

It's just EWT, the other 2 letters are a batch-number-type affair but you'll just want EWT. It is actually called "Blanc Meije"!

Anyone got any suggestions for the best place to go (i'm nr to Chesterfield/Sheffield) & get an aerosol can of this type of paint? I'm presuming it'll have to be specially made?

Bought a can from Halfords tonight & the colour strip on the top of the lid doesn't appear to be any relation to the colour to my car. It looks slightly beigey white on the tin. I know they can look different once sprayed, but it does look quite different & am worried that it'll look shxt once on the car?

Has anyone used Halfords Alpine White & found it to be ok? Or should i just stump up the extra cash for a proper made to order paint instead?

Just spray it on something and hold it up to the car! If it is badly wrong and they list it as suitable then you should still be able to get a refund even if used, especially if you are buying another can from them.

I had a can mixed by halfrauds, it was sh*t! My spoiler looks like it came from another car, so i wouldn't touch them again with someone elses barge-pole let alone mine...

Halfords can be a bit hit and miss. The 'vert triton' I've had mixed up is spot on but a burgundy I got for my old Xantia was shit. I finally got some mixed up here . . .

http://www.auto-supplies.co.uk/ ( they're in Bolsover - a spit from you Matthew?) which was a perfect match - they used to be a body shop so specialise in paint.

If you bought the paint 'off the shelf' it might not be a very good match. You'll need to have it mixed while you wait - costs about 15 quid.

I've rung them & its £12.95 for a can, so a bit cheaper than what i thought, i'll have to pop over Saturday morning. Are you still up for coming over this Saturday & if you are what time? Once you let me know i'll get you booked in to get the ride height sorted for you
