A little niggle

My 8 valve gti starts and idles great, it drives great too but then it will loose power for a few seconds and splutter, at the same time an orange light illuminates near the bottom of the rev counter, I don't know what the symbol is cos it only lights up for a second....anyone any idears what might be causing my car to do this? Once you rev it for a second it puts itself right for sometimes a few miles or sometimes a few hundred

that'll be the K light, or engine diagnostic light.
Hard to tell what may be causing it, but is it's recording a fault in the ECU then you can use the blink test to tell you what the fault is.

There is a way I think of reading out codes by counting flashes. Steve

I've got one of those cheapo code readers for the BX (think its a draper?), i assume that it would pick up what might be wrong? You're welcome to borrow it if you are anywhere nr me or are passing by? J29 off M1.
