Clock problem

Post by hvanman »

Has anyone had any experience of not being able to adjust the instrument panel clock (mine is a 19RD)?

Pressing and turning the adjuster just results in the feel and sound of grinding plastic cogs and no real movement of the clock hands!

If not easily fixable I guess I will be looking for a replacement cluster, although that raises another question..... Is it possible to fit the instrument panel with the rev counter in my car and is it possible to get the rev counter operational? (Just a thought... :)

ive heard of this before, one cheat would be to disconnect the battery, and then reconnect it when the right time of day comes round!

Most later BX's has rev counters, although all 14 petrols and 17 non turbo diesels had clocks.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

and the diesel autos :)

The diesel auto has all the wiring in place to fit the rev counter and the clock in the middle of dash. But I doubt a 19RD will have.

I must admit I had thought the easy way was just to disconnect the battery and set the kitchen timer, I just rather liked the idea of a fancier dash...

My RD certainly didn't, I had to make a loom from scratch. Easy enough though, even for my mediocre lectrickery skills.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Interesting, so is the sensor in place for the rev counter on a 19RD and just the wiring required?

I've never yet seen any XUD that doesn't have the sensor fitted, even if it does nothing..
