scrappers - what to save?

We've now got the engine out of the 19 TXD scrappy, and fairly soon, when we've stripped out the useful bits, we'll be left with a body shell. Question - anything on it worth rescuing, bearing in mind that we don't have any cutting gear. possibly the nose section, in case of a shunt? Anything else, before we ring the Metal Man and he comes to take away the corpse?

body panels will be very hard to find shortly, the front wings unbolt very easily , bumpers , doors if good rust free items, lights etc.

When I said we were stripping the scrappy, I meant what I said. Absolutely everything is already off or coming off. The only thing left will be,as I said, the shell. Hence my question. is there anything on the actualshell that is worth saving......

Slam panels if they are in good nick? How's about the sills?

It's the primary metal panel on the front of the vehicle that the headlamps/grille/front bumper attach's to

This is exactly what we thought - though of course the shell is all one piece so we'd need to attack it with a torch or turbocharged grinder, neither of which we've got. How far back would you go before slicing it off? Sills - could be, we'll know when we've rolled the shell on its side; probably not, given that the wagon has done 200,000 miles and is pretty rot throughout (hence the withdrawal of life support).

It's a damn sight easier and cost effective to buy pattern sills and fit them should you need them than to cut off old ones, prep & weld them on. Serious false economy there!

There's very little on a a BX that's hard to repair with tin & MIG, i personally wouldn't waste the storage space!
