That thing. Thinking about freeing the tractor from front of the processor and moving it to the end of the belt to receive the wood in bags (such as those).electrokid wrote:Looks good - what are you thinking of driving with it ?

I am SO much looking forward to getting my lathe working! I think it'll be a while before I can do anything quite that advanced though. And given that it's a belt-driven antique from the 1920s it probably won't be up to much anyway...
Very jealous of the wood-splitter. I could really use something like that at the moment – got about 30 tons of wood to cut and split.

If those /\ are too sophisticated for you, maybe something a bit SIMPLER would suffice !

Well since I'm still on dialup and it takes ages to download vids - and if I could I'm running the version of XP that crashes if you dare run flash... however I can do jpegs so I get the jist
Despite living in 'townie' land I'm wanting to take the same route - via a gassification boiler.
I have an old 'watchmakers' lathe - similar vintage to yours Kev and also belt driven - when I get around to replacing the main bearing that'll be fun too.

My lathe is one of these: http://www.lathes.co.uk/patrick/
That's a brillant website incidentally for anything to do with old lathes.

Could you use the alternator (maybe via an inverter) to drive the conveyor in this video?
That would be possible. However, what I'm aiming at is to liberate the tractor to hold sacks (such as those ) while they're being filled from the first conveyor. I hope to be able to save considerable time by making the sack changing smoother than it has so far been.mat_fenwick wrote:Could you use the alternator (maybe via an inverter) to drive the conveyor in this video?
