Wing Mirror compatibility

Post by Dickster665 »

I have a 1985 Citroen BX19 GT, Mark 1, which needs a replacement driver's side mirror. The car was fitted with the Britax type mirror. The operating arm has snapped in half.

Would anyone know whether a later BX mirror will fit or whether these Britax mirrors were fitted to other Citroens or British cars of a similar age?

Thank you for any assistance.

Cheers

A Mk2 mirror should easily fit, though it'd look very wrong on a Mk1.

Don't think they were fitted to anything else though.

The Mk2 mirrors are interchageable, but look rather "bulky" on a Mk1.

Theres a couple of fellow countryman of yours on here that may be able to help?

Thanks chaps.

I agree that the mirror would look wrong but at least I will ba able to see what is behind until a Mark 1 mirror turns up. Mark 2 mirrors seem readily available which would make it an easy short term fix.

I got MK I mirrors on the MK II 19TRS.

Only snag is the person that fitted them snapped off the adjusters for some reason so they have to be adjusted externally. Sounds like the same situation you have there of snapped operating arm?

Chaps,

Thank you for trying to assist me in the acquisition of a replacement mirror.

Roverman I have sent a pm so that I can hopefully resolve this matter.

Cheers
