Maybe that's it, as I don't remember any problems last year, and that went down well below -10 deg C. On one journey through the night the doors had frozen shut with me on the inside!

At the weekend I drained and refilled with undiluted winter screenwash. This morning the temperature was only down to -3°C, and I still had the same problem. I did notice that there was no claim for a minimum temperature on the bottle, so will look out for some better quality stuff now!

Like I said, I'm sure I haven't had this problem before (except when I've still been using summer levels of concentration) so hopefully there's no need to build anything.

A heated screen would be great, there's one on the Discovery so if you start it up, by the time you've cleared the rest of the windows the windscreen is clear!
