what's the easiest

Post by sarahjaneking »

way to check if my blower motor is gone or if it's the switch? just driven to work and once i got going hot air was forced through so at least it heats but whilst the kids enjoyed watching their breath freeze on the windows I did not lol :o

sorry i've not been on for ages but now a full time employee so seem to have no time, kept both the bx's in the end, although my silver baby currently lives at my mates yard she will rise again :)

thanks

sarah

It is unlikely to be the motor, the most common fault appears to be a lost earthing track as mentioned in this thread. A very easy fix if it is this.
This may be of interest to you Jon for your newly aquired Silver TGD?

Good to here from you Sarah :-)
It is unlikely to be the motor
The brushes eventually wear out Kevan - mine went after just 180K :-) (and the brushes in the starter motor wore out at 190k too). I couldn't find new brushes for the blower - nearest were some for a Makita battery power tool - hi-volt brushes are different to lo-volt brushes so they have to be for a battery or low voltage device and best to find larger ones and file them down to size.
