way to check if my blower motor is gone or if it's the switch? just driven to work and once i got going hot air was forced through so at least it heats but whilst the kids enjoyed watching their breath freeze on the windows I did not lol
sorry i've not been on for ages but now a full time employee so seem to have no time, kept both the bx's in the end, although my silver baby currently lives at my mates yard she will rise again

It is unlikely to be the motor, the most common fault appears to be a lost earthing track as mentioned in this thread. A very easy fix if it is this.

The brushes eventually wear out Kevan - mine went after just 180K (and the brushes in the starter motor wore out at 190k too). I couldn't find new brushes for the blower - nearest were some for a Makita battery power tool - hi-volt brushes are different to lo-volt brushes so they have to be for a battery or low voltage device and best to find larger ones and file them down to size.It is unlikely to be the motor
