Heater control illumination
I'll admit now that I'm no mechanic, but I did feel pretty proud when I correctly dismantled the heater control panel of my car and managed to get the blower working again (the little metal contact on the control disc had fallen out).
Only problem now is that my heater control illumination now doesn't work along with the illumination for the cigarette lighter.
Can anyone advise what I should check when I take it all apart again?

Good point, do you have lamps in the speedo. Could be just a bad connection probably, I would take it apart again and check everything back together properly.Jon Sanderson wrote:Cheers Tim, but they were working prior to me taking it apart - if it's just bulbs then that's an easy fix for me, but it seemed odd that they should all go at once?

Ahh good point, Jon check its not come unattached, (its under the steering column) theres a neat hole not far from it you can stick your finger in and poke the rheostat out from inside the column casing.Oilyspanner wrote:That happened to me, it was the panel light rheostat.

Yeh that!Oilyspanner wrote:The heater card connector plugs onto the back of the board near the top, be aware that the bulb holders there are slightly different to the ones in the binnacle, do not swap them over.
The bulbs pull out of the holders in the heater control quite easily, normally by hand.
