I've found some on ebay for as little as £13. Problem is I don't really want the hassle of fitting one - I might just buy one to monitor boost if I can't get the OBD scanner at work to function properly!

It only needs small bore capillary tube, surprisingly easy to fit, that said I dont have one on my Xantia :)

It is worth checking the rubber sleeve on the turbo outlet that joins to the plastic pipe that runs up to the inlet manifold.
As these can come adrift.

Hmmmm.....can't see down the back, but wiggled a platic pipe on the top near the inlet elbow and it did seem a bit loose. I just assumed it was designed not to be fixed due to vibrations etc, but I'm hoping to get under it next week. Will check that out, cheers.

If it is the brake switch as you mentioned, it should be easy enough to prove by seeing whether brake application has any effect on the instantaneous fuel consumption. I would expect some degree of fuel cut off on the overrun anyway though, even without the brakes.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. I'm taking it into the workshop Friday so I'll check that switch then and also get underneath and check the turbo hoses etc.

55bhp is no good to me, I need 90bhp to rip it up!

Right, it's not the brake switch. Tried that while driving, and it all but cuts out!

It's not the EGR either. I blanked it off tonight. Car is happier and smoother, but still piss-poor slow.

Can't see turbo and associated witchery, but I need to find a way of measuring the boost, or checking for leaks. Got some smoke bombs coming and will let the air filter get a whiff of those while it's running to see if it then leaks out while I've got it under load on the rollers!
