Hydraulic leak

Post by barry badger »

The next major problem with my tzd is an internal leak in the hydraulics. When the engine is running there sounds like a large amount of fluid flowing through the return system, and the pump is running full time. If I turn the steering wheel the noise stops but when I release it it starts again. Pleiades reckon it could be the steering pinion so I bought one but haven't fitted it yet because I'm not convinced. I think it could be a height corrector or the steering flow valve. Also the car will sink right down overnight front and rear, I don't know if this is related. Does anyone have any ideas?

maybe you have more than one fault,
Martin knows citroen hydraulics inside out so i would trust what he says,

what can cause the car to sink quickly would be the one or more front strut and rear suspension cylinder seals getting old, so not holding presure as they should,

they cant be to bad or the car would sink as soon as you shut the engine off,

also the hight correctors very seldom give any troubles, the usual is they acumalate sludge, so require taking apart and cleaning,
