Exactly the situation I have - except on the other size - you obviously did the job properly.rusty holes in this area also can lead to water ingress to the fuse box,

I had both sides to do on mine - The driver's side is cured, but I'm sure I missed something on the passenger side as I haven't solved the issue yet.
