Ok. I found the pack-of-five nipples part.no 1306.76 which is listed only as the bleed for the brake control valve!There were two still in the packet - so obviously they didn't fit afterall.

Then I measured the front bleed from an original Bendix caliper from a 85 BX. The gauge read M.7 which doesn't really exist as far as I know. It's got a finer thread too than the M.8 bleed so heaven knows what this thing is. Ideas on a postcard to : Odd French thread comp, Blue Peter.

XU sump bolts are also M7 x 1mm, just in case you ever wondered...

Earlier cars, like 2CV's, GS etc. have loads of M7 bolts - if you think they're odd, try finding replacement M9 bolts for the Dyane front valence!
