lhm leak

Since the filter clean and Lhm change on Sunday I have noticed that the top of the lhm tank always seems damp with lhm,could it be the filler cap is not dealing correctly or do's it indicate something else , more worrying is a patch of lhm appearing on the floor roughly in line with the back of the engine alost in the middle,I guess the funky thick old lhm didn't flow this well

Is it slightly towards the passenger side? It could be the return on the PAS ram

It seems to be dripping off of the front edge of the front crossmember almost dead centre

It could be one of the nearside strut returns which fead along the crossmember?

the citro blood on top of the tank if there was non before the tank/filter clean, might be a cracked rubber pipe were they join to tank, as they will have been disturbed,

and maybe the one down the back of the engine might be were its running down the outside of the cracked pipe then along the sub frame,

If you remember i had to re-attach the strut return pipes, as for some reason they had both come off, i suspect that they both may have gone stiff with age & then have cracked & are leaking down the pipes which is nr to the area you've described? I must admit to not checking them at the time, sorry about that. From memory they were quite damp/mucky looking.

Not sure about the top of the lhm tank, is the rubber seal pushed down properly?

that was the offside strut return pipe though wasnt it Matthew as we never took the nearside wheel off. I will have a good look around tomorrow

Yes you're right, perhaps the other strut return pipe is knackered as well (which we couldn't see as we didn't remove the wheel)? Easy enough to check. I noticed the drip on the black plastic cylinder which is nr the pressure regulator. It might be worth hosing everything down to clean the whole area up, & then you'll probably much easier see where the leak(s) is coming from. It was quite damp, so the fdv might be leaking as well, or it may just be the pipes needing to be nipped up. A good clean would probably help find it.

This is where I get stuck because I don't know my CDC from my octopus, I know the obvious bits like strut return pipes and the pressure release screw by the accumulator sphere but that's about it.

We could really do with someone writing an idiots guide like Mats excellant sphere guide explaining locations of these bits ,what they do and how to check or repair them

If you take a picture of the underneath where the accumulator sphere is, i can point out the bits that i mentioned. Sometimes a picture is a thousand words But yes, a guide would prove helpful.

Seems my problems were caused by a dislodged cover seal on the front height corrector

Phew, wasn't me then Glad you've got it sorted, still worth cleaning the fdv area to see if you have any small leaks.
