can work out what do's what and more importantly where shit is
( actually shit is all over the underside of my car but if the shit is washed away I reckon its all well preserved under said shit and not rusty like some other cars )

FDV is the rectangular thing next to the accumulator sphere & it has pipes going into it from the top & the bottom. Easy peasy once you know what's what & their location. Have you got a Haynes? I thought it would show a piccy of some sorts.

Very true - oil leaks are your friends, within reason. I helped break a TD the other week and it was absolutely revoltingly filthy underneath, but underneath the filth the subframe etc was all like new.
