Oil leak TZS Auto

Post by kiwi »

Not sure on the exact cause of this the location seems to show pooling of oil just below some green covered sensor type thing I am not sure of the purpose without checking. which is above the oil filter. Checked the breather pieps in that area and they are dry so likely candidates please. The one I can think of the most is Oil Filter blowing passed the gasket at pressure?

Hi oil pressure switch may be culprit. A leak from these is not unknown.

That would be what that sensor is called, it got me confused on a quick look being a differant colour than on the other two petrol BXs.

You say not uncommon? Its the first I have come across in 20 plus years so once gain the BX are throwing out another learning curveball.

I changed the one on Timex because it wasn't working, but it looked much the same as those fitted to 2CV's, which are known for leaking.
