Hi guys
Picked up a meteor tonight and very happy
1.6 carb and running quite lumpy and hesitant when accelerating
Also when parked for ten mins it turns over 10 odd times before she fires up again
Any ideas ? Will get it booked in ASAP but if it maybe something I could do to help to save my pennies
Thanks in advance

Mickey Taker (member) has been through some of these issues on a Meteor, I expect he'll be along in a few hours to tell you his findings or you could do a search of his posts. I seem to remember that some issues were regarding a "round thingy" associated with the carb.

It'd my old car w2g ,Adam is the new owner.
I think its purely carb related and had a chat with Adam when he collected the car.
Plugs and ignition pack are about 6 months old and the leads were replaced at cxm ,the alternator has been refurbed and it has a recon starter so unless the timing is very slightly out the ignition system can be pretty much ruled out.
The car is fine at speed so I am wondering if its running rich or the autochoke is sticking,
I have said to Adam about checking the water pipes to the autochoke for fitting and giving them a good clean out, the car hasent been used since I got the 106.
I also mentioned to Adams friend the trick of putting a relay before the Starter motor to reduce voltage drop.
Before I forget Adam, it might be worth checking the anti freeze now the temperature is dropping I have been using some when I have topped the water up but it may be a little weak now

The car is great at speed
I am going to see if I can clean some bits tomorrow
I did do nearly 300 miles yesterday and most of the time she was fine but at the beginning and end of the day it seemed hesitant
I will get some anti freeze tonight
What a car though !!!

Re: Hesitant between 3000 - 4000 revs and warm start problem
To be honest, French carbs of the 1980s are crap. I had a Peugeot 309 that would often spin for ages before catching. Really annoying because Japanese carbs of the same era were bloomin' superb.
